New 'True Detective' Season 2 Trailer Actually Features Talking
by Andy Neuenschwander
The first trailer for "True Detective" season two was very fitting for the series, featuring only a series of visuals with a haunting song over them, offering little in terms of answers.
Today HBO released the second trailer for the upcoming season, and this time around it's...well, mostly more questions. But at least this time there are a few spoken lines here and there.
From what we can piece together with the few words we do hear, it seems as though the main case this season, at least for Rachel McAdams' character, is a missing girl. Women were the victims of pretty much all the crimes last season as well, but those were mostly murders already committed, so a missing person might offer a little more urgency to the new season.
McAdams, despite knowing her way around a knife and seemingly having a vendetta against wood, sounds like she might be the "good cop" here. On the other hand, there's Colin Farrell's character and his bloody knuckles and Vince Vaughn's character, who is clearly up to no good what with the burning documents and such.
We're not sure that we agree that "sometimes your worst self is your best self" as far as policing goes, but it sounds cool and we're pretty excited for the premiere in late June.
