New 'Star Wars' Trailer's Surprise Cameos Will Give You Chills, Guaranteed
by Andy Neuenschwander
There's a new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer out today to coincide with the Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, and it's clearly tailor-made for fans of the original trilogy.
Unlike the teaser we saw before, there's actual dialogue in this one: we start by hearing the voice of Luke Skywalker repeating what he said to Leia on Endor many years ago to another member of his family.
"The force is strong in my family," he says. "My father had it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power, too."
We don't see exactly to whom Luke is speaking, but the first thing we see after that is X-wing pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Could he be the one who's strong with the force? Or is Luke instead talking to his own niece or nephew?
If that quote isn't enough to get you excited, there's the beautifully orchestrated version of the original "Force Theme" playing throughout the beginning of the trailer, which escalates as we see shots of rebels and some new army of stormtroopers going at it with redesigned TIE fighters and X-wings.
Oh, and there's one more terrific surprise for fans at the end of the trailer. We'll let you see that one for yourself.
