New on Netflix in May: Godzilla, James Bond, 'Gladiator' and More
by EGThe month of May is bringing with it a new crop of movies and TV shows on Netflix, and this month's crop is bigger than those of the past few months. You'll have to wait for some of them—there are quite a few titles that won't come online until later in the month—but there's a healthy selection of new material available for streaming right now.
A good portion of the list is taken up by titles from two franchises: James Bond and Godzilla. Seven Bond films, including favorites "Goldfinger" and "Live and Let Die," are ready to go right now. So are four classic Godzilla movies, just in time for this month's theatrical reboot; the 1954 original isn't on Netflix, but a 1956 retread, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" is, as is "Godzilla vs. Mothra."
The other new movies are the usual mix of classics ("Annie Hall" (available May 31), "Forrest Gump," "The Big Chill," "Gladiator") and movies that few people have been dying to see ("Kiss the Girls," "The Prince of Tides"). But there are also eclectic selections like hip, pseudo-grindhouse fare ("Kill Bill," "Machete Kills" (May 22)) and one recent theatrical release ("Star Trek Into Darkness" (May 17)).
