New on Netflix for March: Daredevil and Pee-Wee
by EG
As is becoming the norm, the biggest news concerning the new arrivals on Netflix in the coming month is not about hot new theatrical movies, but rather the debut of new original content produced by Netflix itself. In March of 2016, two of the service's biggest original series will release new seasons, and a feature-length revival of an old character will debut as well.
Anticipation for season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil is high, thanks to the success late last year of tie-in series Jessica Jones, and the new season of Daredevil finally drops on March 18. Season 4 of House of Cards, one of Netflix's earliest original success stories, debuts much earlier in the month, on March 4.
March 18 is also the day that Pee-wee's Big Holiday premieres. The feature-length movie is a revival of the character created by Paul Reubens on Pee-Wee's Playhouse. The film was co-written by Reubens and Paul Rust, whose starring turn in the Netflix original series Love debuted last month.
Other notable events in March include the arrival of new seasons of non-Netflix series, including Louie, The Returned and kids' series Lab Rats and The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show.
Some new/old theatrical content, including Scarface and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, might help you to scratch a nostalgia itch, while new releases such as Final Girl and The Ouija Experiment 2 help Netflix remain current.
