New on Netflix for December: Bill Murray's Christmas Cheer and Adam Sandler's Ridiculousness
by EG
It's almost a new month, and that means that the content available for streaming on Netflix is about to change, at least a little. Among the usual list of B-movies and sub-par sequels that usually make the monthly list of new additions, the service is offering a few choices this month that might be worth a look.
Perhaps the highest-profile new show to hit Netflix in December is a new Christmas special starring Bill Murray titled A Very Murray Christmas. It's a spoof of classic celebrity TV Christmas special, and it promises to showcase the best of Murray's quirky charm. On the up side, it will include appearances by celebrities George Clooney, Amy Poehler and Chris Rock. On the down side, it will also feature Miley Cyrus. A Very Murray Christmas debuts on December 4.
December will also see the debut of a new Netflix original movie, The Ridiculous 6, a spoof of Western movies starring Adam Sandler. The movie is the first project in a multi-project deal between Sandler and Netflix, and it's already drawn controversy during its production when several Native American actors walked off the set in protest over the allegedly racist script. It's also a comedy starring Adam Sandler, and those haven't been doing well at the box office lately, so there's a good chance that this won't be another highly-praised Netflix original. The Ridiculous 6 debuts on December 11.
