New Movies October 23: Witch Hunt, Paranormal Activity and Holograms

If you thought last weekend at the box office was crowded, you'll have to come up with an even stronger way to describe the upcoming weekend. Four major new releases will join the multitude of holdovers this week, giving moviegoers a bewildering number of choices for their weekend viewing.

The last full weekend before Halloween will offer two new scary movies to choose from. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension promises that it will be the last installment in the franchise, and The Last Witch Hunter is a supernatural action film starring Vin Diesel. These new releases join last week's Goosebumps and Crimson Peak in the fright-centric section of your local theater.

Also new this week is Jem and the Holograms, a live-action version of the 1980s animated favorite; it stars Aubrey Peeples as the titular pop star. For older audiences, there's Rock the Kasbah, with Bill Murray as an aging music-biz manager who tries to boost the career of a young Afghan singer.

And if that's not enough, the biopic Steve Jobs, which has been in limited release for the last two weeks, will try to grab some audience attention by expanding to full-blown nationwide release.
