New Movies March 4: Zootopia Comes to Town, London Falls

Deadpool's reign at the box office is probably going to come to an end this weekend, and ironically enough, the extremely violent superhero movie is likely to be taken down by a bunch of cute animated animals. Zootopia is widely predicted to be the top movie of the week, and the other two new wide releases could have good weekends, too.

Zootopia is an animated film from Disney about police and criminals, all of whom happen to be cuddly talking animals, and their exploits in a big city populated entirely by non-human creatures. The film is getting mostly positive reviews and significant buzz on social media, so all eyes are definitely on its debut weekend.

The week's second new wide release is the action flick London Has Fallen,a sequel to 2013's Olympus Has Fallen. This film, like the original, stars Gerard Butler, and it's Butler's chance to redeem himself after his Gods of Egypt bombed last weekend. Olympus Has Fallen took in about $30 million in its opening weekend, and even if the sequel does the same business, that won't be enough to top Zootopia.

The week's final new wide release is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, a comedy starring Tina Fey. In it, Fey plays a journalist has to cope with the difficulties of her assignment as a war correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It will likely have a respectable opening, but it will have to do especially well to beat Deadpool and earn a place in the top three.
