New 'Mockingjay' Promos Make Peeta and Johanna Into Moving Portraits

"The Hunger Games" has always been creative with their publicity campaigns, but these new motion posters might be the best thing they've done yet.

As we've seen from previous promos, the teaser campaign for "The Hunger Games - Mockingjay - Part 1" is focusing mostly on Peeta and Johanna and their imprisonment by the Capitol. Teaser trailers have shown the two former victors standing next to President Snow as he reads off faux-inspirational propaganda about uniting Panem (and occasionally gets hacked by Beetee).

The newest tricks up Lionsgate's sleeve are these motion posters, which put Peeta and Johanna entirely in the spotlight. The details reveal more about their struggle than we've seen thus far...it's subtle, but it's there.

For example, when you take a look at Johanna's slowly rotating portrait, her face is still and almost expressionless. But if you look at her hands, you can see that she's clenching her fists, either in anger at the Capitol or in a struggle against the brainwashing she's enduring at their hands.

Peeta, meanwhile, attempts to stay stoic, but he looks uneasy, glancing around the set that he's on...which makes you wonder: what is he looking at off-camera?

It's not the most satisfying promo in terms of revealing info about the movie, but it gets the necessary emotional impact. Don't worry though: Comic-Con will bring us the first full "Mockingjay" trailer, likely on Friday. So hang tight!
