New 'Maze Runner' Trailer Reveals More Mysteries...and Grievers

If you weren't sold on seeing "The Maze Runner" yet, this trailer might finally convince you.

The new, extended preview offers more footage from the upcoming film, which is an adaptation of the book of the same name. That allows for a closer look at some of the players in the story, including our protagonist, Thomas; the mysterious Theresa; and "Game of Thrones" alum Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt.

But more importantly, we get to see more glimpses of the maze itself. It looks like a more complicated affair than it was in the book, with pieces that move not only at night, but also during the day while the runners are inside. Additionally, it looks like there are multiple levels as we see Thomas almost falling off a ledge, and there's an artifact that Thomas picks up that seems to help them come to a conclusion about the mysteries of the maze.

What most fans probably want to see, though, is how the movie will represent the monstrous Grievers that dwell in the maze. We hear Newt speak the name in the trailer, and we do get a small glimpse at their appendages, but it's only a glimpse. From what we can see, they look very mechanical...we'll see if the movie does give them a more biological body and make them similar to the book's description.

If successful, "The Maze Runner" could spawn at least two more movies to reflect the sequels in the book series, "The Scorch Trials" and "The Death Cure."
