Yes, We're Serious: Backstreet Boys, NKOTB Unite to Form NKOTBSB (Listen to a Sample) Talk about the ultimate man band.

In a move that's sure to cause some sort of cataclysmic schism in the universe, the Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block have released their first collaborative single called “Don’t Turn Out the Lights.”

How did such a near miraculous pairing of old school boy bands occur?

"We were all on tour, not together at the same time, but we were pretty close on the road," Backstreet Boy Brian Litrell told Entertainment Weekly.

"NKOTB were wrapping up thier summer run. We happened to be out and we ended up being on stage together. It was a magical moment [...] one of us will ever forget. Right after we performed together everybody on Twitter and Facebook...it was everywhere that we were going on tour. So we started talking about it and we made it happen," said Litrell.

As MTV reports, NKOTBSB will go on tour this summer and are expected to hit home with hard-core fans from the ‘80s and ‘90s.

The song, "Don't Turn Out the Lights," is about rekindling a fizzling romance, which could also be applied to the bands' attempts to reignite their careers.

NKOTBSB will drop their first, self-titled, album on May 24.

While a full video of the release has surfaced on various sites, it is being removed by Sony with cat and mice-style speed.

In the meantime, Perez Hilton's video of Nick Carter and AJ McClean sharing a sample provides a good feel of what fans (and for AJ's sake, the "Sexy Ladies" whom he repeatedly mentions) can expect:
