The New 'Jersey Shore?' Seacrest Plans L.A. Persian Reality Show

The New 'Jersey Shore?' Seacrest Plans L.A. Persian Reality Show For three seasons (going on four), "Jersey Shore" has introduced us to the lives and culture of Jersey-area Italian-Americans and their GTL lifestyle. Whether you agree that those guidos and guidettes are representative of any group other than "crazy people on reality television," the success of "Jersey Shore" is undeniable.

So it's little surprise that Ryan Seacrest is aiming to catch some of that lightning in a bottle with a new reality series. But rather than do what some other reality shows (pay attention, "Jerseylicious") have done and attempt to focus on the same culture, Seacrest and the reality-friendly Bravo channel are going in a different direction: out with the Italian-Americans, and in with the Persian-Americans.

Seacrest's new project, which is tentatively titled "Shahs of Sunset" (ha), will focus on a group of young, rich Persian-Americans living in Los Angeles. While the series is sure to promise some crazy, big personalities worthy of reality TV, Seacrest played up the cultural aspect in a statement: "The series will offer rich characters and relatable storylines about everyday life -- love, work, friendship and family -- steeped in a diverse culture, which is wildly entertaining and fun."

What do you think, "Shore" fans? Would you watch "Shahs of Sunset?"
