New 'Iron Man 3' Armor Revealed at Comic-Con... Too Much Gold?
by Andy NeuenschwanderTony Stark, aka Iron Man, has always been a little ostentatious. After all, we're talking about a guy who chose gold and hot rod red for his suit of armor. But the newest Iron Man armor for "Iron Man 3," revealed this weekend at Comic-Con, might be a bit TOO showy.
Since the convention began, all of the past suits of Iron Man armor used in the movies, from "Iron Man" to "Iron Man 2" to "The Avengers," have been on display. Today they were joined by the newest suit of armor, the one that will be used in the upcoming "Iron Man 3," which is in production now.
Marvel posted a photo of the armor on its Facebook page, and thus far the reaction has been mixed. As you can see from the photos, the armor is mostly gold with red accents, instead of the other way around. It's actually closer in design to the Mark V armor used in "Iron Man 2" (that was the one that came out of the briefcase in the raceway sequence) than past designs, only with gold instead of silver.
It should be noted that the Mark V armor was only used in one scene in "Iron Man 2," so this suit might only make a brief appearance as well. Moreover, there might be another new suit that we haven't seen yet... and there's always that Iron Patriot armor.
Check out the full-size images below, and let us know what you think. Do you like the design, or is it a bit too much?
