'New Girl' Season 5, Episode 4: 'No Girl' Recap

Things are tense around with loft without Jess there to hand out advice. CeCe tries to step in and help Winston with his lady problems.

Nick and Schmidt are getting contacted by an old college "friend" they hate, Todd. Todd wants to talk about Schmidt's bachelor party. They don't want him to come... but he's also filthy rich and could probably cover it all. He wants to take them to Vegas. Nick gets jealous and declares he will take Schmidt to Tokyo.

Paying for this trip is something he didn't think through, so he rents out Jess' room while she's gone to a stranger named Brandon. Nick has already bought the tickets and they need to come up with $9,000. They start renting out the loft to others.

Winston is having issues with KC, who he believes is cheating on him. CeCe tries to help him through, since he would normally go to Jess for aid. She has posted a photo with a guy, so CeCe suggests Winston post a photo with her. KC dumps him immediately after seeing the photo. CeCe tries to nurture him as Jess would do, but struggles.

Running an unofficial hotel becomes too stressful, and, cracking under the pressure of dealing with annoying guests, Schmidt calls Todd. Nick is hurt and angry. He insists he can pay his own way, and tries to collect money from their Japanese guest.... but since he slept with her, she thinks he's a prostitute. Nick admits they can call Todd.

They meet with Todd but he's just as awful as ever. They decide they don't need him after all. They'll have fun no matter what they do.

Winston decides that, to break his cycle of bad women, he needs to make a woman cry over him just once. He enlists CeCe, who reluctantly tells KC that Winston died. When the man from the picture comes out of the house and she realizes that KC really was cheating on Winston, she lays into her, and blames his death on her. KC bawls. Winston thinks his cycle has ended and he can find someone better now.
