'New Girl' Season 4, Episode 14, 'Swuit' Recap

Nick and Schmidt unveil their new invention - the "swuit," a suit made of sweatsuit material. Yeah it's horrible. And they're doing a pitch to QVC in four days.

The two butt heads while trying to come up with a new idea. Jess wonders what she can do to help. Winston points out they both clearly want to be the boss, and that is the issue.

CeCe's college tuition has been raised, and if she can't come up with money soon, she will have to drop out. Winston offers to loan her some money but she declines. Winston tries to get Coach on board to help her, but Coach is reluctant. The two finally decide to make CeCe an investment offer, which she takes.

Jess speaks to both Nick and Schmidt about the others' fictional "man problems." She encourages each to let the other be the boss. It works really well; both are being extra considerate, until it comes out what Jess has done... the two agree that after the pitch meeting, they will go their separate ways.

At the meeting, Nick realizes he has forgotten the prototype for their new camera for pet photos (it has a dog bone attached). Jess sees it at home and goes to bring it to them, but spills coffee on herself. The only other clothing in the car is the swuit.

Winston and Coach check in on CeCe during her art history class, and encourage their "investment" to study something that will lead her to a better-paying career.

Jess busts in on their failing pitch, and the woman asks about her swuit. Jess pitches it for them. She hates it - however, she pays them to kill the idea, since she has something similar in the works. Everyone celebrates - except Nick, who is dumped by his girlfriend for being too ambitious.
