'New Girl' Season 3, Episode 23: 'Cruise' Recap

Nick and Jess booked a cruise when they were together, and it is non-refundable. They downgraded from a suite, and are able to bring everyone else with them. No one is that excited about it, especially since Jess and Nick just broke up and are a little weird.

Winston finds Schmidt with a ring that he had made for CeCe, who is getting her GED. He also plans to tell CeCe he's still in love with her and wants to say it on the cruise.

They go on the boat and Coach, in an effort to prove that he is not afraid of boats, volunteers to participate in the safety demonstration. He panics and spends the rest of the trip in the room.

The captain, comes to speak with them later, and Jess accuses her of flirting with Nick. Everyone notes that things are getting weird already. Nick and Jess go to get their itinerary and find they couldn't get out of the romantic package. Because it has all the extras they decide they have to do it to get their money's worth.

Schmidt sees CeCe by the edge of the ship and goes to give her the ring, but Winston surprises him, and Schmidt accidentally drips it over the side.

Nick and Jess do their romantic activities, and end with a bottle of wine. Nick tries to kiss her and they call an immediate end to the romance package. She and Nick split the ship and half and plan to keep separate the entire trip. Nick tells Winston he doesn't think he and Jess can be friends for a while.

Schmidt continues to attempt to speak his love to CeCe, but finds her constantly trying to get in touch with Buster. Schmidt gives up and tells her he wants her to be happy. Winston comes to tell them what Nick said. They know neither will listen to them, so they have the captain announce for Jess and Nick to both to return to the room, and drag them inside.

They tell them they were wrong telling them things would be weird. Of course they would be weird, and they can all accept that. They want to talk it out. Jess and Nick say they find living with each other weird. After speaking about it, everyone feels better, and they go to enjoy their trip. However they find they are locked in the room.

Three days later, they're finally discovered and broken out.

At home, safe and clean again, they all agree that Nick will move into Schmidt's room.
