by Shannon KeirnanEveryone plays their drinking game, True American.
The next morning, the hangover is killer. Jess gets a call from her friend, wondering why she is not at her one-year-old's birthday party.
CeCe realizes she has sent her new young boyfriend, Buster, a bunch of weird texts. Coach, Winston, and Schmidt are supposed to help their new hot female neighbors move.
Jess and Nick prepare for the party, in terrible pain. Nick was supposed to have assembled the baby's gift, but waited until the last moment. Jess begins talking about their future, and Nick goes comatose. Finally, he starts talking about his own vision of the future, which is less idylic and in total conflict with Jess' ideas. The two argue. Nick wants to not plan all the details of their future, and Jess wants to make more plans.
Schmidt, Coach, and Winston, help the hot girls move, and find out that one of them has a boyfriend on tour. The other, however, is single and "just having fun." Coach and Schmidt become competitive. They begin breaking the girls' stuff and blaming each other. They try to pin it on Winston but he stands up for himself.
Buster comes to see CeCe, admitting she has frightened him, but he's willing to work through it.
Close to a break-up, Nick and Jess decide to take a break from yelling and put the toy together. The two decide they can compromise on the future. The toy construction isn't going well. Nick tries to weld it together and sets a blanket on fire without noticing and the fire department has to come. They both admit that sometimes they miss when they were just friends.
They break up.
