'New Girl' Season 3, Episode 2: 'Jacooz.' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanSchmidt invites CeCe to the party his office is throwing the next day. He gets a call from Elizabeth and tells CeCe it’s his doctor.
Winston asks if they know anything about cats. He’s watching Daisy’s cat to score some points with her. Schmidt hates cats - they’re obsessed with his nipples.
Jess gets ready in the bathroom, seeming insecure. She asks Nick if she looks okay. She’s been at the new school for a week now, but the other teachers are ignoring her.
Schmidt and Nick are in the elevator and Schmidt tells Nick he’s never seen him so happy. Winston joins (since they forgot to press the button), and he tells them he’s going to ask Daisy to be his girlfriend.
At a teacher meeting, Jess tries to talk to the other teachers, who Mean Girl her. Nick comes in and passes out free school supplies and invites them to his bar for free drinks. They soften.
Elizabeth goes to visit Schmidt at his office, and his horrible co-worker Beth invites her to the office party.
Winston asks Daisy if they can be exclusive, and she agrees. The shower is running, however, and he finds a big shoe on the floor. Daisy gives him the cat and pushes him out the door.
At Nick’s bar, Jess is having a hard time getting along with the group. Nick tells her it’s like high school. She’s the nerd and they’re the cool kids. He tells her to not follow her instincts... and to drink a lot. He says he was cool in high school, while Jess was a nerd. She says he would never have noticed her, and Jess gets trashed.
She wakes up with a terrible hangover, though she has gotten in with the cool kids. She can barely move, and the boys sing “I Believe I Can Fly” over her until she gets up. Schmidt yells at Nick for not protecting Jess in this situation, and for giving her such bad advice.
Schmidt goes to see CeCe at her photo shoot and tells her that the party is office employees only.
Winston tells Nick what happened, and Nick tells him to break up with Daisy. Winston decides instead he will kill her cat. Winston can’t decide how to murder Ferguson, so he lets the cat choose his own death.
At work, Jess is in with the group. They unlock a cabinet and show her where the fun mugs are.
Jess comes in looking for a flashlight and meat to distract dogs. She and her new friends are going to break into the principal’s house and sit in his jacuzzi. Nick tries to talk her out of it.
Schmidt and Elizabeth are enjoying the office party when he notices CeCe. He hides Elizabeth, and puts CeCe in his office. He tells Elizabeth they’re going to play a sexy game... she’s the character who is the first person to leave a party. Schmidt’s evil co-worker Beth pulls CeCe out of the office, and Elizabeth notices her. Schmidt lies and says she’s also a caterer. He almost convinces Elizabeth to go when Beth stops her. CeCe notices Elizabeth, but thinks she works there. It goes surprisingly well.
Winston tries to smother Ferguson, but he’s too cute.
Jess and her new “friends” go to the principal’s house. Jess goes over the fence. Nick, who has followed her, hops over and tells her if she’s going to do something stupid, then he wants to do it with her.
The motion lights go on, and he throws Jess in a bush. He tells the principal he used to live there, and was looking at his old room (the bathroom), but Jess comes out to confess. The principal invites them into the new jacuzzi.
Winston goes to drop off Ferguson, and asks Daisy about the man. She admits she is still sleeping with him. He says he deserves better. And so does Ferguson. He grabs the cat and runs off.
Evil Beth applauds Schmidt. Both girls really love him. Schmidt is torn.
At school Jess’s clique wants to hang out with her again, but she tells them she is going to spend time with Nick. She goes out to see him and they kiss. He tells her he would have noticed her in high school, and they go to have sex in the teacher’s lounge.
At the loft, Schmidt is sleeping on the couch while Ferguson licks his nipples.
