'New Girl' Recap: Season 5, Episode 8: 'The Decision'
by Shannon KeirnanFrustrated with Nick and Winston's inability to make a decision about anything, including brunch, Reagan tells them she'll sleep with one of them... if they can decide which one by that evening. Obviously she does not intend to follow through on this, just to teach them a lesson.
Winston and Nick attempt to calmly debate who should have this opportunity. That goes uh, great... Finally Winston uses his trump card, reminding Nick that he frenched the girl Winston had a crush on back in elementary school. Nick is forced to give Winston the Reagan play, and they tell her their choice. She plays along but talks it up so much that Winston panics about his ability to perform to her expectation.
Schmidt and CeCe, who are paying for their own wedding, go in search of a venue that they can afford. Everything is horrible. Schmidt guides them to the Lisbon, a beautiful, pricey venue. They love it, but can't afford it. That's when they realize the only open spot may be snatched up by his old frienemy, Benjamin. CeCe, listening to Ben make fun of Schmidt, runs to snatch up the spot. They argue over it, and finally, realizing he really can't afford it, Schmidt walks away from his dream venue because he has his dream fiancee. They choose the abandoned warehouse instead.
Winston asks Allie for help in making him feel better, and she tells him he has kind eyes, which boosts his confidence. Reagan manipulates Nick into bringing the decision back into play, so he and Winston again argue over who gets Reagan. They decide to make her decide. While talking it out, though, Winston realizes he has feelings for Allie. He goes back to work and invites her for a drink. She asks if she can bring her boyfriend.
With Winston gone, the Reagan win automatically falls to Nick. She asks him to pick which room they should have sex in. Nick can't make a choice. Finally he tells her he's deciding he doesn't want her this way. They put on their most unattractive outfits and go out to the bar just to have a drink.
