'New Girl' Gets Picked Up for Full Season

'New Girl' Gets Picked Up for Full Season Have you been enjoying "New Girl" on Fox? If so, here's some good news for you: you're going to be able to see a lot more of it next year!

We're just two episodes into the first season of "New Girl," but already Fox has decided to give it a full season pickup. That means that in addition to the 13 episodes that were set to air this fall, an order of 11 episodes will follow in the winter.

The move makes perfect sense, as "New Girl" is a bonafide smash hit thus far. In fact, the show has outperformed "Glee" the past two weeks, drawing about a million extra viewers and rating higher in the demo as well.

Of course, "New Girl" might owe some of that success to the fact that "Glee" is its lead-in, but it looks like the wider appeal of the show is building on that lead-in audience.

Then again, you might be able to thank Zooey Deschanel as much as you can thank "Glee," as the actress has brought both a degree of star power and an irresistible charisma to the show. The cast should continue to improve as guest stars are brought in for this new episode order, and Justin Long is already signed on for an arc as a possible love interest for Deschanel's character Jess.

If you haven't been watching "New Girl" so far, now would be a good time to start, before the show becomes an even bigger hit! You can catch up with recaps of episode one and episode two right here on Yidio.
