'New Girl,' 'The Following,' and Others Get Renewals From FOX
by Shannon KeirnanGood news for weekday FOX audiences… the network has ordered another season for popular shows “The Following,” “New Girl,” “The Mindy Project,” and “Raising Hope.”
Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment for FOX, was positive about the reaction from fans, especially the embracing of “The Following,” which premiered recently.
“From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Reilly. “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season.”
“New Girl” will be going into its third season, “The Mindy Project” its second, and “Raising Hope” its fourth.
“New Girl” currently ranks top in comedies for women aged 18-34, and is top ten among comedies for all adults 18-49.
“The Mindy Project” is also ranked as the number one new comedy of the season in the same female demographic.
“Raising Hope” continues to be a top 20 sitcom among teens and adults 18-34.
“We love working with these talented producers and casts who, week after week, create some of the funniest work on television,” said Reilly. “These shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the FOX comedy brand next season and beyond.”
