'New Girl' Casting News - Nick's New Love?

If you have not watched the last episode (episode 15), what are you waiting for? The internet has been abuzz over the long-anticipated kiss between Nick and Jess, but as we reported earlier, it will not be that easy for the two.

It was announced today that Nick’s potentially recurring love interest has been cast at last! Odette Annable, known for her roles on “House”, “Breaking In”, and “Brothers & Sisters”, is joining the cast of quirky characters as a gal named Shane.

Shane will be Nick’s new boss at the bar he tends. She is perky and preppy and a school grad (sound familiar?), and she quickly begins a having a ‘fling’ with Nick.

But what about Nick and Jess?

As the series creator mentioned before, Nick and Jess will both start to see new people, but it will not be what it seems at first. Rather than admit they have feelings for each other and express their mutual attraction, they run far away from each other – into the arms of other people.

As the series creator pointed out before, the end of this season (season 2) is still up in the air as it is currently being written, so the question of “will they or won’t they?” hangs heavy for the production team as well as the audience.

Though it helps that the series creator wants to see Nick and Jess together almost as much as the audience does.
