New 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Trailer Spotlights Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson [Video]

G.I. Joe: RetaliationWhile Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was clearly all abuzz last night about helping carry Michael Bay's "Pain and Gain" alongside Mark Wahlberg, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" director John Chu is doubly amped about the man once better known worldwide as "The Rock" and his - ahem - "reviving" impact upon a critically-panned Hasbro franchise.

As Johnson received the Action Star of the Decade award at Las Vegas' CinemaCon Monday night, Chu dubbed "Fast Five" hit-maker Johnson "franchise Viagra. He brings everyone's game up." Johnson himself claimed upon receiving the honor that the June 29-debuting sequel is a guaranteed "massive hit."

The latest trailer, on which Machinima was given first dibs, opens up the plot greatly and makes it appear that it will be Johnson and Bruce Willis carrying the narrative load as the only two veteran Joes who can help the elite unit clear its name after an imposter President frames them for an all-out murderous assault on their own unit.

It all, of course, leads to the attempted legitimizing of a "special forces" unit set to "succeed" where the Joes supposedly couldn't: Cobra.
