New 'Dexter' Still: Morgan Versus Morgan?
by Sean Comer(WARNING: The following contains spoilers from the end of the sixth season of "Dexter." If you have catching up to do, you know where the "Back" button is.)
Let the anticipation for the apparent penultimate season of "Dexter" begin with curiosity.
TV Guide has the first photo today to come out of the Showtime drama's seventh-season shooting - and speaking of "shooting"....
Suffice it to say, Deb Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) doesn't look like she's dealing with last season's explosive revelations well. Just as she was coming to grips with more-than-familial sentiments of love for her brother by adoption Dexter (real-life ex-husband Michael C. Hall), Deb witnessed her brother murdering last season's main villain in communion with Dexter's "dark passenger."
And according to executive producer Scott Buck, that still is exactly what it looks like: the seventh season picking up exactly where the last left off. "Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis' chest, but it's just the opposite. She now has to deal with what she's seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself," he said.
This season will also feature Ray Stevenson in a multi-episode arc as a Ukrainian gentlemen's club owner and mobster.
