Netflix's 'Daredevil' Casts its Elektra
by Shannon KeirnanNetflix's sneak hit "Daredevil" has cast its Elektra!
The new character (who was referenced in season one but will won't be making her debut until season two premieres in 2016) will be played by striking French actress Elodie Yung ("G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "District 13: Ultimatum").
She'll be stepping into the tall red boots previously worn by Jennifer Garner in 2003's big-screen stinkers "Daredevil" and 2005's spinoff "Elektra."
The Netflix Elektra is described as "a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle."
"The Walking Dead" actor Jon Bernthal will also be popping up in season two as a major Marvel character, stepping into the role of Frank Castle, also known as "The Punisher."
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for."
"Daredevil" and its upcoming season are only available on Netflix. Will you be tuning in during 2016 to check out Elodie Yung as Elektra?
