Netflix Sets 'Daredevil' Release Date, Reveals Motion Poster

It's going to be a big year for Marvel in theaters, what with "Ant-Man" and a new "Avengers" movie. But it'll be a big year for the comic book company in television, too, with a batch of brand-new shows hitting Netflix.

The tentpole of the new slate of Marvel shows obtained by the streaming service is "Daredevil," if only because it's the most recognizable name. There's been a "Daredevil" movie already, and few people outside of comic book fans have heard of Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones, who will star in the other shows.

If you're one of the fans looking forward to seeing what Marvel and Netflix can do with Daredevil in episodic format, you now have a release date to count down to: April 10, 2015.

Marvel announced the premiere date for the show via a "motion poster," which on YouTube is really more of a short teaser video. It doesn't say much about the series; rather, it features an aerial shot of New York City, Daredevil's stomping grounds, and reveals the superhero's logo in red out of the streets of the city.

"Daredevil" will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer whose heightened senses allow him to don a costume and fight crime as Daredevil. Expect this one to cross over with Marvel's other Netflix shows, with the potential for characters to jump over to "Agents of SHIELD" on ABC as well.
