Netflix Releases 'Gilmore Girls' Trailer, Sets Premiere Date
by EG
There's no doubt that it's really going to happen. Netflix this week released a short teaser trailer for its upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, and, perhaps more importantly, the trailer revealed the release date for the new four-part series. Fans had speculated that the revival would arrive sometime this fall, but now we know exactly when the streaming can begin.
The trailer begins with some loving, nostalgic shots of locations from the original series - Luke's cafe, the Dragonfly Inn, the bandstand in the Stars Hollow town square, and, finally, Lorelai and Rory's house - through the four seasons of the year, along with the text "Seasons change."
Then, after the text changes to "Some things never will," we get a clip of Lorelai and Rory, played by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, engaged in signature Gilmore Girls banter. There's no question that a lot has changed, though, if only because the pop-culture references in the scene are entirely up-to-date, as Lorelai wonders if Amy Schumer and John Oliver would like her.
The revival series, titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, will consist of four feature-length episodes, and all four episodes will be available at once for streaming on Netflix on, we now know thanks to the trailer, on November 25 of this year.
