Netflix Releases 'Gilmore Girls' Featurette

The revival of Gilmore Girls on Netflix is now less than two months away, and Netflix wants its subscribers to have time to catch up on past seasons of the series before the new miniseries' premiere. That's why the service debuted a short promo this week that encourages binge watching of the series before the November launch of the revival.

The two-and-a-half-minute short features clips from the series' seven-season run interspersed with commentary from the cast as they share their fond memories of working on the show. Those cast members include series leads Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop, as well as Jared Padelecki (Supernatural), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Liza Weil and Keiko Agena.

The short plays heavily on the nostalgia factor, conjuring up the warm, fuzzy feelings that both the cast and fans have for the quirky residents of Stars Hollow. It ends with a reminder that all seven seasons of the series are currently available for streaming on Netflix and ripe for binge watching.

What the promo doesn't give us is any sneak peek at the four-episode revival itself. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will hit Netflix on Friday, November 25, the day after Thanksgiving. The limited series will be composed of four feature-length episodes, each taking place, presumably, in a different season of the year.
