Netflix Gearing up for 'Gilmore Girls' Revival, Alex Kingston to Play a Role
by EG
Among the most highly anticipated of Netflix's upcoming original shows - possibly the most highly anticipated - is the revival of Gilmore Girls. The service has still not announced an official release date for the four-episode miniseries, but the company is doing what it can to keep Lorelai and Rory on the minds of their fans.
The biggest recent Gilmore news is that all seven seasons of the original series are now available for streaming on Netflix anywhere in the world. Viewers in the U.S. had already been able to watch the entire series, but now international viewers will also be able to binge watch the whole thing in preparation for the revival.
In other news, Alex Kingston (Doctor Who) revealed over the weekend at Supercon in Miami that she will appear in the revival. Her character will be a new one - Kingston was not part of the original series - but the actress offered no details about the role she'll play.
The revival is probably going to hit Netflix in the fall, and its official title, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, suggests that each of the four feature-length episodes will take place in a different season of the year.
