Neil Patrick Harris & Husband Join 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Cast
by Andy NeuenschwanderAre you ready for Hollywood's cutest dads to join Hollywood's scariest show?
Neil Patrick Harris is set to join the cast of "American Horror Story" this season, and he'll be joined by husband David Burtka!
Apparently, the "How I Met Your Mother" star was excited to do the show before the deal was even struck. Usually shows reach out to stars like Harris, but in this case, he contacted the show.
"I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn't even available to be in it," Harris said back in July. "I just love those series and Coven was fantastic…to do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can't wait!"
It hasn't been revealed yet what kind of roles Harris and Burtka will be playing, but we do know that they'll be showing up later in the season. After all, Harris is a busy man to begin with, and he's just been hired to host the Oscars.
Since Harris and Murphy have worked together before on the earlier seasons of "Glee," it was a natural fit. "Obviously we have worked together before, I'm working on something and hopefully we will talk next week," Murphy said back in July. "He's game. He had very specific ideas of what he wanted to do, and I had very specific ideas, so we're melding them. He's awesome, one of our great entertainers, and I would love to see him and Jessica Lange go at it in some intriguing way. Because of his schedule, something we're thinking about, maybe one episode and then another one later on."
Harris vs. Lange? We'd love to see that. Oh, and if Harris doesn't sing at some point, then life just isn't fair.
