Tonight: Ned Flanders Meets 'Dexter' In 'Treehouse of Horror XXII'

For the first time in years, I actually give a damn about "The Simpsons."

Oh, come on. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one that's felt the hunger pangs for something memorably funny from Fox's signature Sunday juggernaut for a good 15 seasons and one mediocre movie, now.

But this is one time I'm actually a little giddy at Matt Groening getting all topical.

Behold, a special taste of this year's annual "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween anthology special, featuring a memorable melding of my favorite sallow-hued suburbanites and yours with a certain Showtime sociopath.

Tonight's horrific installment includes a full short "Dexter" spoof, as well as an "Avatar" parody, and a SImpson-esque take on the rather obscure Julian Schnabel film "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly." Check out previews of the "Dexter" and "Avatar" shorts below.
