NBC Pulls 'Ready For Love'

NBC Pulls 'Ready For Love' NBC has pulled its newest dating show “Ready for Love” after just two episodes aired.

Tuesday will air the final episode of the show, which Eva Longoria executive produced. There is no determination as of yet on whether the other filmed episodes will run. Starting April 30th, “Grimm” will move to Tuesdays at 10 p.m., through May 21st to take its place. “Dateline” will take over Grimm’s Friday slot beginning April 26th.

“Ready For Love” debuted to fair viewership, but the two-hour premiere dropped significantly in the second hour. The second episode brought in 3.2 million, despite an opportune lead-in from “The Voice,” and fell heavily in ratings.

The time slot has been a difficult fit since February saw the end of “Parenthood.” “Smash” briefly took over but was shunted to Saturdays, a probable kiss of death for the Broadway drama.

Hosts Bill and Giuliana Rancic were optimistic about the show before its debut.

"This show is going to do for the dating show genre what ‘The Voice’ did for the music show genre,” dreamed Bill. “I truly believe that it’s going to change the whole landscape of these types of programs.”

"A lot of dating shows are looking for the crazy girls," she says. "They chase the drama, the scandal and the crazy, but this isn't that. This is chasing the love, the authentic connection. In love, there's enough drama; you don't need to fabricate it," added Giuliana.

“I think people will take away inspiration, motivation to find their match, [and] the hopeless romantic in themselves to go out and find their compatible one,” thought “Desperate Housewives” star Longoria.

I guess audiences need more time to prepare.
