How Much is Kim Kardashian's Stolen Loot Really Worth?
by EG
The insurance payout for the jewelry stolen from Kim Kardashian in Paris earlier this week might be a lot smaller than Kim had hoped. According to a report on celeb gossip site TMZ, the insurance claim filed by Kardashian on the jewels puts the total value of the stolen goods at half what she had originally claimed.
TMZ cites unnamed sources "familiar with the case" in their description of Kardashian's insurance claim. The claim's biggest single item is a 20-carat diamond ring which was reported, at the time of the robbery, to be worth $4.5 million. In the claim, that value has been adjusted downward to $4 million.
Twelve other items were taken, and the claim puts their total value at $1.6 million. The original report put the stolen goods' total value at $10-11 million, which means, after subtracting the value of the ring, that those 12 other items should be worth $5.5-$6.5 million, not $1.6 million.
So, if the report's true, it means that Kim will be getting an insurance check that's about half the size of the one she wanted. She might also want to have a talk with whoever sold her all that jewelry.
