Mr. Feeny Returns For the 'Girl Meets World' Pilot

Photographs from the set of “Girl Meets World” had “Boy Meets World” fans in a tizzy when they hit the Internet… they showed Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), and William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) greeting and posing with new and old cast members, including Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter.
However, the photos were just a visit from Strong and Friedle. Disappointing news, perhaps, but it has been confirmed that Daniels will be returning to the show!
Daniels played the wise but put-upon Mr. Feeny for seven years on the show. Will he return to mentor Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), who is now a history teacher at his old school?
Blanchard tweeted her excitement at the visits along with the pictures.
“Rider Strong and Will Friedle visited us! OH MY GOSH.”
“Shawn and now Maya :),” tweeted Sabrina Carpenter, who will be stepping into the Shawn Hunter-esque best friend role of Maya. “What an honor to meet you Mr.@RiderStrong.”
Show creator Mark Jacobs has been open about welcoming back old cast members, though so far only Daniels, along with Ben Savage and Daniel Fishel, have made it official.
"We sat down with them and talked about what their roles on the show may be. Whoever wants to be part of this show will be and whoever wants to move on will,” Jacobs explained.
“The most important thing is to see what the show is and then see what their part in it will be. Will Friedle said, 'I will be at every taping.' Everybody is quite attached to it. The bottom line is: Will Rider [Strong] or Will be a cast member? Will they put in appearances? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see."
