Movie Trailers... With Cats.

I don’t know what relevance this serves, whatsoever, to the real world, but it’s a movie trailer… recut… with cats.

That alone makes it noteworthy.

In the trailer for “Seven Psychocats,” which pokes fun at the “Seven Psychopaths” thrill ride that just hit theaters, you get to experience the joy of listening to Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, and Christopher Walken speaking, as cats.

Epic casting? Somehow, entirely. I think it’d be hard to argue with the cat chosen to play Christopher Walken. It’s almost eerie.

The mock trailer was shot by Jim Tozzi who has designed animated characters and puppets for “Wonder Showzen,” and executive produced “Xavier: Renegade Angel” and “Delocated.”

I know nothing about any of those shows (although now I'm tempted take a peek), but look, there are funny, funny (and very tolerant) cats! Squee!

The actual “Seven Pyschopaths” follows a struggling alcoholic screenwriter (Farrell) who becomes “entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld” after his friends (Played by Rockwell and Walken), who kidnap and return dogs for the reward money, inadvertently steal a high-ranking gangster’s beloved Shih Tzu.

It’s directed by “In Bruges” creator Martin McDonagh, and maintains a lot of similarities with that hit—dark humor, violence, and epic amounts of bad language.

Reviews on the flick seem to be embracing the fact that it’s self-consciously “uneven,” and although it’s not adding up to much in the line of conclusion, it’s a “good romp throughout.” Although the ending is rumored to be somewhat of a disappointment, “it’s quite audacious, and supremely entertaining throughout,” according to Tell’s Stephen Silver.

Nothing yet about whether the actual flick would have been better with cats.
