Morgan Freeman Does Interview with Jimmy Fallon...After Inhaling Helium
by Andy NeuenschwanderThis is what the voice of God sounds like with a little added helium.
Morgan Freeman, former God portrayer and reigning documentary narration champion of the world, appeared on "The Tonight Show" last night to talk to Jimmy Fallon about "Lucy," the new Luc Besson action movie releasing this weekend.
Normally, a talk show host would ask some questions, crack some jokes, and show a clip, but Fallon had a different idea. Playing off of a promo for Freeman's "Beyond the Wormhole" science show in which the actor inhaled helium, Fallon decided to provide Freeman with helium for the interview as well.
The result is absolutely hilarious, especially since Freeman seems less than enthused about the stunt.
"I really shouldn't be doing this," Freeman said in his newly acquired high-pitched voice. "It's very undignified."
It's a testament to the power of Freeman's voice that, even on helium, it still attempts to be low and commanding. That didn't stop the audience from going nuts over the stunt, though.
