More Comedy! 'The Office' and 'Parks and Recreation' to Air Extended Episodes

More Comedy! 'The Office' and 'Parks and Recreation' to Air Extended Episodes If you're anything like me, you might often find yourself getting to the end of an episode of "The Office" or "Parks and Recreation" and thinking, "What? It's over already?" and then cursing the heavens for not making Thursdays a few hours longer so NBC could fit in more comedy programming.

Well, there's good news for fans of Thursday night comedy, as NBC has announced that it will air extended episodes of "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation" later this month on April 28th.

The day will mark the occasion of Steve Carrell's final episode of "The Office," hence the pomp and circumstance. While that will be a sad day indeed, at least we'll get an extended episode that features both Carell and Will Ferrell, who will be continuing his guest arc.

The farewell episode of "The Office" will run 50 minutes, and air from 9:00pm to 9:50. It will be immediately followed by a 40-minute "Parks and Recreation" episode, which will run until 10:30pm. "30 Rock" will air immediately after that.

Judging by the clips we've seen of Will Ferrell's debut on "The Office," we should consider ourselves pretty lucky that one of his episodes will be nearly doubled in length!
