'Mom' Season 3, Episode 8: 'Snickerdoodle and a Nip Slip' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanNow that Baxter is marrying the awful Candace, Candace wants to extend the olive branch to Christy. She offers to take her out for lunch, hoping they can become friends. Christy reluctantly agrees to meet up with her.
Bonnie and Christy go shopping and leave the tags on some nice outfits so they can look good, as Candace has invited them to her country club. Lunch goes surprisingly well, as the ladies seem to be getting along well enough for once. Candace's father, who is also at the club, notices his daughter and is introduced to Bonnie and Christy. He's funny and laid-back (unlike Candace), and flirts with Christy. He takes her around the golf course with him. Bonnie is thrilled at this potential match with a rich gentleman.
He sends roses to Christy's house with an invitation to dinner, delighting Bonnie, but Christy thinks it would be a bad idea to go out with him and ruin her new relationship with Candace. He won't take no for an answer and keeps sending her gifts.
Candace shows up and accuses Christy of trying to better herself by seducing her father. Christy is furious. In front of Candace, she calls Fred and tells him she changed her mind and will have dinner with him. She tells Bonnie it will be a "one and done" way to get back at Candace, but she actually enjoys herself with Fred. She decides to see him again.
Baxter comes over to scold her for ruining his life. Candace has gone off the deep end. He offers Christy money to stay away from Fred and she throws him out, and the next time she picks up Roscoe, she rubs it in Candace's face that she's seeing her dad.
