'Mom' Season 3, Episode 7: 'Kreplach and a Tiny Tush' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanBonnie and Steve are dating on the DL, but they're not fooling anyone.
Violet is sleeping at Christy's, because Gregory's parents are there. They also want to meet Bonnie and Christy. Violet is understandably nervous, but Christy wants to invite them over for dinner. While she speaks to Violet, she fields urgent calls from Jill and Jody, being their "rock" and sponsor now.
Bonnie stops by Steve's work with pizza and he tells her his fantasy - to take her out, in public, for lunch or dinner (gasp!). He's starting to feel like Bonnie doesn't want to be seen with him. Bonnie stresses out about the idea and leaves.
Christy and Bonnie pretend to be a nice, normal family when Gregory comes over with his mother, Phyllis, who is difficult to stomach. Jodi interrupts dinner, having issues with her sister. She wants to stay there for a few days. Christy talks her down, but then Steve shows up to confront Bonnie, and then Jill appears with a crisis - her ex is having a baby. Christy gets pulled into helping her cope, as Bonnie breaks up with Steve. Phyllis enjoys her "dinner and a show" but Violet and Gregory are mortified .
Violet cracks, angry that Christy is putting everyone else's needs before her own. Phyllis, surprisingly, steps in to defend Christy. She tells Violet she is doing good deeds and she should be proud, and that Violet is doing so well on her own that Christy needs to help others. Christy hugs her.
At the next A.A. meeting, Steve shows up with a new girl to rub in Bonnie's face.
