'Mom' Season 3, Episode 4: 'Sawdust and Brisket' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanViolet is coming over to "talk." Bonnie and Christy wonder if she's pregnant again, or broke up with Gregory.
It turns out to be all good... Gregory has encouraged Violet to reach out to her family and try to rebuild their relationship.
Violet and Christy go shopping together for the first time in years. Violet is realizing now that her Mom did, at least, try to be a mother while she was growing up. Violet continues to make her mother tear up by forgiving her and calling her "best friend." She evens invites Christy and Bonnie to dinner with her and Gregory.
Pushed by her group, Bonnie goes to make amends with a woman in her building, Beverly, who she stole cat tranquilizers from. She offers Beverly money to repay all the things she has stolen from her, and apologizes, but Beverly rejects her apology.
Bonnie is disgruntled by the exchange, but has a pleasant dinner with Gregory and Violet, who seem very happy. Christy thanks him for helping her and Violet reunite, but he admits he has selfish motives. He's excited to be a father one day and knows that people make better parents if they are on good terms with their own. Christy isn't sure, though, that Violet is ready for "another" baby.
This floors Gregory, who hadn't yet been told that Violet gave a baby up. Violet is horrified and tells Christy she does so much better when she's not in her life.
Beverly apologizes to Bonnie. She explains that her father was a drunk and she was projecting. Bonnie invites her in for tea and football, and she accepts.
Christy speaks on the phone with Violet, who, she doesn't know, is right outside the door with her suitcases. Violet apologizes and Christy advises her to go and be direct with Gregory. Violet agrees, and goes back home to try to patch things up with him.
