'Mom' Season 3, Episode 3: 'Mozzarella Sticks and a Gay Piano Bar' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanDespite avoiding her building manager duties (i.e. fixing blind Mr. Munson's heater), Bonnie advises Jodie, who is staying with them, to get a job.
Finally, driven by the suggestion she "fake it until she make it," Jodie becomes a barista. Per Christy and Bonnie, her money begins to go toward repaying the sister she stole from.
After three months of living with them, the estranged sister asks Jodie to come stay with her. Jodie thanks Bonnie and Christy for saving her life.
They realize that helping people feels amazing. Like... really good. Eager for another high, they go to a bar and pick out a likely candidate for their aid, Michelle. They drag her to AA and then home with them.
Michelle wakes up on their pull-out, sobered up and confused. She explains that she doesn't usually drink but she was passed up for a promotion and decided to get wasted. They take her home where her husband confirms this. However he notes she was also sleeping with her boss. He files for divorce and Michelle files a restraining order against the two would-be "angels."
Their lesson (kind of) learned, Christy and Bonnie agree they meant well but won't be pushing themselves into other peoples' lives from now on. Bonnie even takes responsibility and goes to fix Mr. Munson's heater so he doesn't have to follow her around demanding her assistance anymore.
