'Mom' Season 1, Episode 8: 'Big Sur and the Strawberry Lube' Recap

He invites her to a wedding next month in Big Sur. Christy starts to panic at the thought of a romantic getaway, but agrees. When he drops her off at her home, she thanks him for being so patient. One month, and they can stop taking it slow. Christy goes inside to sit with Bonnie and Violet, eating all of their snacks in anxiety.
On his day off, Gabriel has come into work to eat. Christy gets his table, which is irritating since his wife joins him. Gabriel goes back to the kitchen and apologizes to her, and offers to move. However, she tells him he's going to tip 40% and let her have the weekend of the wedding off. He agrees.
Christy goes to the bathroom, but it's occupied by a crying woman. She comes out of the stall, and it's Claudia (Clowdia), Gabriel's wife. She tells Christy her husband is cheating on her. Christy comforts her and tells her as long as she loves her husband she can still make the marriage work.
Christy and Bonnie go to A.A. and Christy tells them about dating Adam and taking things slow. She munches on food while she talks and confesses the longer she goes without sleeping him the more nervous she gets about it.
Bonnie helps Christy pick dresses for the wedding, though she's gained some weight and things aren't fitting any more. Bonnie suggests she bring lingerie, and gives her a gift of strawberry lube.
Baxter takes Roscoe for the weekend. On his way out he runs into Adam, and charms him as usual. Baxter tells him when he finally makes it with Christy he is going to love it. He goes in, and Bonnie introduces him to Violet and Luke. Bonnie tells Adam it's a big trip, and that Christy will tell him everything later.
In the car, Christy eats. Adam confesses he is nervous and Christy agrees. They decide to talk about it. That doesn't help much.
After the wedding, they go back to their room. Adam sets the mood, while Christy goes to change. He pulls open the curtains to see the full moon, and finds Christy is trying to escape out down the window ledge. She tells him she's running away. She's not ready to have sex with him.
He tells her there's nothing to be afraid of. She explains her fears - tattoos, sounds, positions, etc. She is overthinking things. She believes they are doomed. She is still figuring out who she is. She doesn't think she can be in a relationship until she has a better idea. Christy suggests they take a break and just be friends.
Reluctantly, Adam agrees. He goes to order himself room service.
At home, Christy has a knock on the door. It's Claudia. She wants to talk. She tells Christy she confronted Gabriel about the affair, and he denied it and blamed it on her drinking problem. She asks Christy for help, having been told she was an alcoholic.
