'Mom' Season 1, Episode 16: 'Nietzsche and a Beer Run' Recap

'Mom' Season 1, Episode 16: 'Nietzsche and a Beer Run' Recap Christy caters to a table of fireman who have a gift certificate (from Gabriel after saving him in a house fire). A cute fireman flirts with her.  Behind her, Gabriel lights a dish on fire, and the fireman sweeps her up and carries her outside. They kiss and he introduces himself as David.

Christy brings drunk David home. He asks her to stay and she reluctantly agrees to stay for a few minutes. He tries to pour her a drink as she looks around, noticing a lot of books but no television. He admits his nickname is The Professor. She also notices a doctorate from Stanford.

He wants to kiss her again but she goes to leave. Then she decides to stay...

She sneaks home but Bonnie catches her. Christy lies, but since her panties are in her purse, Bonnie doesn't believe her. She demands the details.

Christy says she won't see him again. He drinks a lot, and Christy doesn't want to be around that. Bonnie encourages her to keep seeing him anyway.

She goes back and has more sex with David. He smokes weed afterwards, which she turns down. She explains to him that she's sober now after hard partying. He admires that and calls her a warrior, and does more drugs.

At their A.A. meeting Bonnie passes out her flyer as a "certified" life coach now. Christy ries to pass on talking but Bonnie wants Christy to share.

Christy and Bonnie are awoken when a drunk David crashes his fire truck into their garbage. He explains he's on a beer run. Christy brings him inside and makes him coffe, yelling at him for driving drunk. He falls asleep on Bonnie's bed before he can hear her lecture. Bonnie tucks him in, realizing she used to put her kids through this. She admits to Bonnie being with David makes her want to throw away her sobriety.

She and Bonnie have an impromptu meeting. She admits she knows David is bad but doesn't want to go back to being alone. Bonnie tells Christy she's the strongest person she knows. The two go to bed but then remember the fire truck. Christy drives it, turning on the lights and taking it back.

Bonnie takes the kids to school so Christy can talk to David. He sits down and tells her he has a problem: he's crazy about her. Christy wonders if maybe he has any other problems, but he says no. Christy tells him she can't handle the partying; she could lose everything, and they break up.

He gets dressed, and Christy jumps on him one last time.
