'Mom' Season 1, Episode 13: 'Hot Soup and Shingles' Recap

Christy struggles in the rain with bags of groceries, only to trip over a hockey stick. She injures her leg and can't stand, calling for help, but Bonnie and Roscoe are inside dancing and can't hear her. She crawls into the house.

Wet, and with a sprained ankle, she tries to put groceries away. She won't let Bonnie do it, or she won't be able to find anything.

Violet calls in her grandma and mother to feel the baby kicking, but by the time Christy limps in, it has stopped.

Christy finds an old boot for her ankle. Bonnie asks her what they're going to do about the leak in the roof, and Christy says she'll go up and put a tarp. Bonnie notes that will be difficult with her injury, and insists they call Baxter to do it.

Baxter comes over to patch the roof, though he has no idea what he's doing. Luke goes to the roof to help and the two begin ripping off shingles at random. Luke wants to talk about the baby. He's not sure if he's ready to be a dad. Baxter reassures him that he'll learn to be a dad, and he'll love it. They smoke some weed.

Christy hears them laughing on the roof. She goes up the ladder to find them slacking off, but Baxter tells her they're done, and being safe. Christy's ladder falls backwards.

Luckily she has only hurt her arm, and wraps it. She is determined to go to work despite Bonnie's urging to stay home... or, better yet, go to the hospital.

At work, Christy tries to take out two bowls of hot soup with her hurting arm and leg. She spills burning soup all over herself. Gabriel sends her home. She goes to make dinner, pushing Bonnie's help off. She cries into the freezer and admits she is done. She asks for help and sobs onto Bonnie.

Bonnie tries to tuck Christy into bed, but Christy's control-freak attitude turns on, and she begins blaming Bonnie for making her this way. They work out an agreement that Christy can blame Bonnie on certain days of the week.

In the living room, Roscoe and Baxter are smoking more weed... but, baked, Roscoe sets the chair on fire.

Bonnie takes care of Christy, finally, and the roof appears fixed... but when the rain starts, the roof continues to leak, and Christy's faith in her ex is gone again.
