'Mom' Season 3, Episode 5: 'A Pirate, Three Frogs, and a Prince' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanBonnie is feeling the itch after having been without a man for over a year. Her friends encourage her to have a little fun but to be careful. She is directed toward Steve at one of the meetings, who is thrilled she is talking to him.
Determined to move things along, Bonnie shows up at his office in short shorts to ensure she has caught his attention, and he takes her to lunch. They begin a flirtation.
Unfortunately it means a bit more to Steve. While Bonnie thinks she is just fooling around and having fun, Christy has to inform her that Steve is taking it very seriously. Bonnie gently breaks it to him that she isn't looking for anything long-term.
Meanwhile, Christy is having major issues with Baxter's girlfriend Candace, who invites herself to a parent-teacher conference. The teacher informs them all that thanks to the work Candace is putting in, Roscoe is doing much better in school. Christy loses her cool over the snarky intrusion of this unwanted girlfriend.
Candace leaves Baxter to defend her, and he tells Christy that he loves Candace and is planning to propose to her.
Hurt, Christy talks with Roscoe and reminds him that she is very busy lately, but loves him and will be able to spend more time with him soon. Because Roscoe seems to like Candace and she has been a positive influence on him, Christy tamps down her dislike.
