Momentum Builds for Dwayne Johnson's Presidential Bid

The ground-swelling support for a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson 2020 presidential campaign is mounting, and whether or not he’s taking it seriously, at least one person is.

Political consultant Kenton Tilford of Wheeling, West Virginia, the man behind the “Run The Rock 2020” campaign committee, is dead set on getting a third President Johnson in office — though he hasn’t had help from Dwayne just yet.

“There hasn’t been any communication between myself and Mr. Johnson’s team,” Tilford, 26, admitted to Page Six. “The hope is that he appreciates the strong showing of grassroots support from across the country and decides to take the plunge in 2020. I see it here in West Virginia, and I think that really says something about his broad, unifying appeal.”

The “Baywatch” star, 44, is registered as an independent. He spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention and made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention the same year.
