Modern Family Season 2 Episode 7 - Chirp Recap

In season 2 episode 7 of Modern Family, Manny and his mother Gloria go to Jay’s workplace to pick him up and visit a restaurant for a family lunch. An employee at Jay’s workplace lets Manny to drive a forklift and sadly Manny bumps it into the wall. An angry Jay due to this incident fires the man much Manny’s dismay and anger.
In the meantime, Jay tries hard to remember what the cause behind Gloria’s celebration is as she celebrates nearly every possible anniversary. He tries to identify the location of the meeting place. Jay tells that he won’t hire the man back as he nearly injured his kid Manny. A touched Manny reveals the real venue of their date.
Haley and Claire fall sick and are bound to stay back at home. The two starts to bond initially; however, a call from Dylan to Haley makes her angry. Once Haley hangs up, Claire tries her best to encourage Haley in breaking up with Dylan. Sadly, a confident Haley thinks otherwise and believes that Claire is only talking about Phil and her situation.
Phil takes care of all of Claire’s unfinished works and tries to find out an annoying and irritating smoke detector. Trying to multitask of finishing Claire’s undone work and finding the smoke detector, Phil fails at nearly everything. Though he replaces the batteries of the new detectors, he uses only his marching baton to demolish two smoke detectors.
Meanwhile, Cameron enthusiastically accompanies Lily to act in the commercial of children’s furniture stores against Mitchell’s vehement protests. Mitchell argues that the commercial exploits the Asian features of Lily and it is nothing but racist. Finally, Cameron takes her away, though at first wrongly chooses the other Asian child.
