Miss USA To Join WWE's 'Tribute To The Troops'

Miss USA To Join WWE's 'Tribute To The Troops' What goes on in a World Wrestling Entertainment ring isn't exactly what most would always call "pretty" but in this instance, WWE's Superstars and Divas are bringing America's fighting men and women at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC some lovely scenery.

For nine consecutive years, WWE has performed live in December in front of arguably the wrestlers' favorite crowd: that of U.S. Armed Forces personnel, frequently in war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's a tradition that WWE Chairman and owner Vince McMahon started in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks - followed not long after by free tickets to live events for troops, often ringside seats.

This year, not only does the tradition continue, but it will include an appearance by reigning Miss USA and committed troop-supporter Alyssa Campanella.

Airing Dec. 13 at 8 PM ET/PT on USA Network and in a one-hour condensed special Dec. 17 at 9 PM ET/PT after being taped last week, the special includes Campanella serving as a special guest ring announcer on a show that features a main event of The Big Show, John Cena and WWE Champion CM Punk versus former WWE Champion (and "The Real World" alum) The Miz, fellow former champion Alberto Del Rio and World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry.

The show also features musical performances by Mary J. Blige, Nickelback (who supply the "WWE Monday Night Raw" theme "Burn It To The Ground" and performed it live for the troops) and comedian George Wallace. Other appearances thanking American troops include "Extra" co-host Maria Menounos, Bradley Cooper, the Muppets and Hugh Jackman.
