Minnie Driver Makes a 'Hail Mary,' Signs on for New CBS TV Pilot

Minnie Driver hasn’t been seen in public much since the birth of her son in August of 2008.

Sure, she’s made some guest appearances on a couple of TV shows (including "Modern Family") and filmed the movie "Conviction," but she has not been nearly as busy in the acting world since becoming a mom. Now, she seems to be getting both her feet wet with a return to TV.

Driver landed the lead role in a new CBS pilot called ‘Hail Mary.’ While there is still no word on who will costar with the beauty, the pilot will be filmed soon.

According to the Baltimore Sun:

"Driver was courted for multiple pilots this development season, and earlier this month there were reports that she was on the verge of joining an NBC comedy called 'Free Agents.' That deal didn't come together, however, and she wound up with 'Hail Mary,' which will film in Atlanta."

The show will be a drama, and according to Perez Hilton, she'll star as "a suburban single mom who teams up with a street-smart hustler to solve crimes."

Driver's last television role was alongside Eddie Izzard in the 2007 series "The Riches."
