'The Mindy Project' Season 3, Episode 20: 'What to Expect When You're Expanding' Recap

Peter has finally broken Lauren down - she has agreed to marry him! Everyone gets a wedding invite.

Mindy can no longer fit into any of her normal clothes, and is starting to feel hideous. She goes to work in a track suit, only to find that Jeremy has scheduled a photographer to take an updated staff picture. She convinces Jeremy to wait until she can get her Skinny Dress back from the cleaners. Tamra offers her cousin Sheena as a stylist option.

Jeremy, upset about Lauren's wedding, and feeling very single, forces Danny and Morgan to agree to go to a single's pajama party mixer with him.

Mindy feels great in her dress... until she bends over and it rips to shreds. She agrees to meet with Sheena, and explains she is losing her confidence. She doesn't even want to have sex with Danny lately.

Danny, Morgan, and Jeremy go to the single's party, where Morgan sees his girlfriend Jessica hitting on someone. Morgan makes Danny go and talk with her. She says she is thinking about breaking up with Morgan, who has really let himself go lately. Danny lies and says that Jeremy is going to fire Morgan, so she can't break up with him yet.

The party is disrupted by an angry next-door neighbor, who is being kept awake by the music.

Mindy calls Danny into the room for sexy time, but he actually laughs at the outfit Sheena has placed her in. Mindy is crushed.

Everything comes to a head for the photographer the next day. Tamra is furious at Danny for what he did, Mindy is back in her track suit, and Morgan, newly dumped, thinks he is getting fired. Danny is pressed into telling him Jessica dumped him for gaining weight (obviously not something for the very sensitive pregnant woman to overhear).

The attractive neighbor shows up at the office to confront Jeremy, who left her a strongly worded letter regarding her breaking up the party. She demands an apology. Somehow their argument turns into setting a date.

Sheena goes to the office to yell at Danny, and tells him he needs to make things right with Mindy and tell her what's beautiful about her. Meanwhile, Mindy goes to confront Jessica, who notes that she doesn't look very good. Furious, Mindy starts throwing all of Jessica's stuff out the window (she's a hoarder, so there's plenty to toss). Mindy begins defending Morgan's good traits, and in the process realizes she has been too hard on herself lately.

Mindy goes to Danny to apologize. He also apologizes, and says that he finds her confidence beautiful and he hasn't been doing his job to help her maintain it.
