'The Mindy Project' Season 3, Episode 18: 'Fertility Bites' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanIt's a lot of "new" for our friends at "The Mindy Project." New fertility clinic, new doctor (Adrian Bergdahl), and a new situation involving Mindy and Danny... a pregnancy!
So how is everyone faring with all these changes?
The support staff hate Dr. Bergdahl, who verbally abuse and disregard them, steal Morgan's bagels, and won't even donate to their walkathon! Jeremy is forced to intervene and ask him to take it easier on the staff, but that just throws Dr. B into a rage. After confronting them and losing his temper, Jeremy is strong-armed by Tamra, Morgan, and Beverly into firing Dr. B, despite his strong work ethic. Things change for the nurses when they find Dr. B sleeping in his car. He is having issues with his wife. Guilty, they invite him back to the practice.
Things aren't going great for Mindy either, whose new fertility clinic, while cushy and posh, has no clients. No one wants an unestablished fertility doctor. Desperate, she takes on Morgan's Cousin Lou, who is having trouble getting his girlfriend pregnant. Even Cousin Lou, however, wants to know she can do the job, so she ends up lying and saying that she and Danny were having trouble conceiving, but now she is pregnant.
As usual, word gets around, so by the time she is throwing a party for her clinic, all the guests in attendance think Danny has fertility problems. Danny's unfortunate wording during his speech only seem to make this more evident... until Cousin Lou finally spills the beans and Danny learns what Mindy has been saying about him. He is quick to set everyone straight.
The solution seems to come with Dr. B, who offers to hard sell his patients and send them to Mindy's new clinic... in exchange for staying at her apartment. This means that Mindy will be moving in with Danny, who has been worried about how little he has been able to see her with all the work she has been putting in lately.
